Look Who's Talking
The past couple of decades, particularly with the incredible advances in technology, have shed new light on an old topic...evolution theory.  If evolution has flaws, then also subsequent theories built upon those premises could be flawed.  At any given time, a paradigm shift in our understanding has the potential to revolutionize modern science.

Don't just take our word on it.  A growing community of
credible, highly-educated scientists and researchers
are coming, and have come, to a different viewpoint.

Look who's talking...

"The scientific fields of cosmology, cellular biology, DNA research, astronomy, physics and human consciousness are all presenting astonishing new, mind-stretching evidence that concretely disproves former 'scientific' theories."

"My road to atheism was paved by science...but, ironically, so was my latter journey to God."

Academically Open Minded

by B.L. Hofer

New, improved technology and scientific advances and discoveries are providing more and more evidence that long-held theories may actually be incorrect. New advances in technology and science, including recent archeological finds, have provided compelling evidence that accounts detailed in the books of the Holy Bible are more than “just stories.”

Archeological expeditions have uncovered critical evidence supporting many Biblical accounts of ancient history. And, in fact, it has been noted that there is now much greater and more reliable evidence in support of Intelligent Design than for evolution theory. If there is any truth to that, then subsequent theories based on evolution may also fall. If we are to remain open-minded, intellectual academics, shouldn’t we take a look? After all, the true scientist seeks truth, and not fulfillment of agendas.

I find it interesting that there is an apparently little known fact that Darwin himself recounted aspects of his own theory before he passed. I also find it curious that this fact, along with other pertinent facts, are not taught in our public school systems (and we were certainly not taught any such notion
when I was growing up.)

Why are our children being taught only one exclusive theory (as if the thing itself were God) without regard to any other theory whatsoever? It seems to me that if Intelligent Design was just a bunch of junk that could easily be discredited, then of what shall anyone be afraid? Simply present the facts of both - honestly and thoroughly - and let the kids use their beautiful brains. Being so one-sided in this day and age just seems privative and irresponsible at best.

Interestingly, and also apparently unknown to many, a multitude of evolutional premises have been discredited – but the word has been slow to get out. I understand that people resist change, but c’mon – isn’t it about time that we gave kids all the information. It should be noted that Intelligent Design is not about religion - it is about the science of the origins. So why can't we let the kids (and adults) decide for themselves? That's an opportunity I sure would have liked to have had. How about you?

This mounting new information and evidence presents academics with a dilemma. Are we going to be objective and open to new ideas? Or are we going to rest on old information in the face of new and compelling empirical evidence? Keep in mind that although change can be a real pain - it can also be healthy. I have no sympathy for those who simply can't be bothered to do a little leg work. I believe we owe it to ourselves and our future to obtain educational fairness and equal opportunity.

And speaking of change, we’ve actually already changed. We might just need to get things a little more back to where they were. Looking back in history, the United States of America, for example, was actually founded on Biblical principles. I don't recall that from history class (although, admittedly, that really wasn't my favorite subject.)

Historically, there was apparently not only a day when faith in the Bible was strong, but the Bible was actually required reading for all students. That being the case, presenting Intelligent Design in the schools today would more accurately be referred to as restoration of an old practice as opposed to some radical new way of thinking.

To be fair, I'm not necessarily proposing that we remove evolution theory;
but that we rather teach Intelligent Design and Evolution together - honestly and objectively. Because evolution has been taught so prevalently, we have to address the issue one way or another to get the truth out in the open. As said, the kids are smart. Give them the straight facts of evolution and intelligent design. That's only fair. I don't understand why any sensible administrator should have a problem with that.

The bottom line is that our society has drilled it into us that the "science" we learned growing up was truth and that was that. End of story. Or, is it?

As academics, we have an obligation to remain open minded. We have to be realistic and recognize that what was once believed to be hard-core truth 100 or 500 years ago would seem absurd today (remember the whole "Earth is flat” thing?) We simply cannot go forward with blind ignorance.

There is a multitude of compelling arguments, and evidence, rising up. The evidence is compelling and undeniable. The scientists and presenters have concrete, credible arguments and evidence. The information is being put forth by respected and intelligent individuals ( and not what some might call "religious, right-wing wackos," or "Bible-thumpers.")  It's being put forth by people who set out with an agenda to disprove Intelligent Design and/or Creationism; many of whom were former atheists and/or evolutionists. They just stumbled upon some real shockers along the way.

There was a day when I would have proudly stood behind the hard-core evolutionists and their assertions – because I was only taught evolution, and was taught that it was essentially fact. The “theory” part of it seemed to find it’s way into a mysterious, foggy abyss somewhere on the other side of our flat earth.

Decades ago, when I was learning about evolution, perhaps they could have claimed ignorance. But, today, with the information now available, there’s no excuse. Anyone not willing to learn, acknowledge and present the most current research, scientific findings and empirical evidence is either simply lacking a few marbles or is highly suspect as having an unsavory agenda.

I’m thankful that I finally decided to listen and open my mind to new information and possibilities. I am interested in the truth, and I'm willing to get it - no matter where that leads. How about you?

"We should never fall into the trap of thinking that if something is hard for us to imagine, it is therefore hard for God to do.  A grasshopper has a hard time figuring out how a 747 works, but meanwhile the 747 flies overhead.  Fortunately, the spiritual universe is neither obligated nor constrained by the meagerness of our comprehension."

Former Athiest and Award-Winning Reporter

for the Chicago Tribune Speaks Out

(Review)

Lee Strobel is a former self-proclaimed athiest and Award-Winning Reporter for the Chicago Tribune.  In his book, The Case for a Creator, Strobel writes, "The scientific fields of cosmology, cellular biology, DNA research, astronomy, physics and human consciousness are all presenting astonishing new, mind-stretching evidence that concretely disproves former "scientific" theories."    Strobel also states,"My road to atheism was paved by science...but, ironically, so was my latter journey to God."

During his academic years, Lee Strobel shares that he became convinced that "God was outmoded, a belief that colored my ensuing career as an award-winning journalist at the Chicago Tribune.  Science had made the idea of a Creator irrelevant."  Many scientists, including myself resonate with this.   However, Strobel notes that science now points us in a different direction.  "In recent years, a diverse and impressive body of research has increasingly supported the conclusion that the universe was intelligently designed.  At the same time, Darwinism has faltered in the face of concrete facts and hard reason" remarks Strobel, joined by an increasing number of others, including internationally renowned leaders and scientists.  Strobel is convicted that science, more and more, is illustrating that theories that origionally pointed away from God are now pointing to God.
